At Snowcrest Foods, we’re committed to supplying frozen-fresh products that are 100 percent safe for consumption. We operate in accordance with all federal, provincial and other legal requirements. Detailed written procedures covering all processes critical to ensuring product safety and quality are reviewed regularly and audited to insure they are being adhered to. Our food programs, policies and procedures follow the strictest guidelines set out by the organizations below. 

SAFE QUALITY FOODS (SQF) Food Safety and Quality Codes

SQF is a comprehensive food safety and quality management certification system for food manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors. It is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked standard. Snowcrest Foods is honoured to have received the highest level of certification for food safety and quality.

ECOCERT ORGANIC CANADA

The certification body for sustainable development in Canada. Organic certification is based on traceability; a verification of production methods according to organic standards all along the food chain. Products are certified and appear on the organic certificate following a voluntary inspection. Fruit products certified include Wild Blueberries, Mango Chunks, Berry Blend and Sliced Strawberries. 

GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICE (GMP)

A system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in food  production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product.

Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of Canada (IFANCC) Halal

Provides assurance of genuine halal products through an audit of the facility to verify that processes, ingredients and hygiene/sanitation practices comply with halal requirements.

BC KOSHER CHECK

Kosher refers to a religious dietary practice rooted in Jewish tradition. Kosher certification is a process by which a company ensures their food is kosher or, in other words, fit for consumption by observant Jews.

CANADA ORGANIC

Snowcrest Foods is audited by Ecocert Canada to verify compliance with regulated legal standards for organic products and the use of the Canada Organic logo. GUELPH FOOD TECHNOLOGY CENTRE (GFTC)

Covers the Prerequisite Program requirements that are commonly outlined by various regulatory bodies such as CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency), FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and Codex.

HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITICAL CONTROL POINT (HACCP)

A management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
